INEC to Conduct Mock Voter Accreditation ahead of Edo Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled a mock voter accreditation exercise in Edo State on September 10 as part of the preparations for the upcoming governorship election.

This exercise will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. across selected polling units in six local government areas, representing the three senatorial districts of the state.

The mock accreditation is intended to test the functionality of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and the result upload process to the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal.

The exercise will be conducted in specific locations, including Eguare Primary School in Esan Central, Usokwi Iyogbe Azama Primary School in Etsako West, and Western Boys’ High School in Ikpoba Okha, among others.

Registered voters within these designated units are encouraged to participate by bringing their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to the polling units.

The locations of these centres have been made available on the INEC website and social media platforms for public awareness.

This exercise is part of INEC’s efforts to ensure a smooth and credible election process ahead of the governorship election slated for September 21, 2024.
