In Ekiti, EFCC Arrests 34 Suspected Internet Fraudsters
Operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested thirty-four (34) individuals suspected to be involved in internet-related fraud in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
The suspects were apprehended in the early hours of Monday, June 23, 2025, during a coordinated sting operation at Iworoko and Ijado areas of the state capital. Their arrest followed actionable intelligence received by the anti-graft agency regarding their alleged involvement in cybercrime activities.
Items recovered from the suspects include eleven luxury vehicles, several laptops, numerous mobile phones, and incriminating documents linked to online fraud.
The EFCC stated that the suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
